Focus and Scope

The journal covers the following areas:

  • Learners and Learning - Cognition, motivation, engagement, development, well-being, individual differences, and learner outcomes.
  • Teaching, Pedagogy, and Instruction - Instructional practices, classroom interaction, subject teaching, differentiation, and pedagogical innovation.
  • Curriculum and Educational Programs - Curriculum, program design, implementation, competencies, learning outcomes, and program evaluation.
  • Assessment and Measurement - Testing, assessment, psychometrics, feedback, learning analytics, and educational evaluation.
  • Teachers and Professional Practice - Teacher education, teacher knowledge, professional development, identity, teacher leadership, and educator practice.
  • Digital and Technology-Enhanced Education - Online and blended learning, educational technology, AI in education, digital literacies, and technology-supported learning.
  • Equity, Inclusion, and Learner Diversity - Special education, disability, access, participation, language and cultural diversity, and educational equity.
  • Education Policy, Leadership, and Systems - Governance, administration, leadership, institutional effectiveness, reform, and comparative education systems.
Submissions should make a substantive contribution to education research or practice and clearly address an educational question or problem. Studies primarily focused on business, technology, or psychology without a sufficiently developed educational focus or contribution, are outside the journal’s core scope.

Peer Review Process

The journal uses double-anonymized peer-reviewed system for peer-review. The manuscript will be peer-reviewed by at least two independent external reviewers with relevant expertise. The review process may take 4-10 weeks. The editorial board makes the editorial decision after considering the reviewers' reports, the manuscript's scholarly quality, relevance, originality, methodological or analytical validity, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and any other relevant information. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, rejection with an invitation to submit a substantially revised manuscript as a new submission, or rejection.

 

Publication Frequency

Quarterly, published in March, June, September and December

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Before submitting a proposal, please note the following:

  • The special issue should focus on a specific research topic, conference theme, or closely related area within the journal’s scope.
  • All manuscripts submitted to the special issue will follow the same editorial and peer-review process as regular submissions.
  • Proposed guest editors and reviewers are subject to approval by the journal.
  • Proposals should be submitted to the journal at least five months before the planned publication date.
  • An article processing charge (APC) applies to each accepted article.
  • All published articles will be freely available online as open-access articles.
